Asian markets were trading in a mixed range as investors were worried over the US economy and the European debt crisis.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 26.88 points or 0.3 per cent to 8,955.06. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 216.88 points or 1.11 per cent to 19,812.02. Singapore’s Straits Times rose 34.48 points or 1.23 per cent to 2,830.70. South Korea’s Kospi was down 2.44 points or 0.13 per cent at 1,815.00.
Australia’s S&P/Asx 200 rose 42 points or 1.01 per cent to 4,182.80. China’s Shanghai Composite was up 13.53 points or 0.52 per cent at 2,595.04. Taiwan’s Taiex was down 16.64 points or 0.22 per cent at 7,702.45.
