Aviation stocks rose after data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation showed passengers carried by domestic airlines in February rose 24.1 per cent y/y. Passenger load factor for Jet Airways (India) Ltd rose to 90.4 per cent in Feb from 86.8 per cent in February last year.
Passenger load factor for SpiceJet Ltd rose to 96.3 per cent in February from 93.7 per cent in February last year, while InterGlobe Aviation Ltd owned Indigo's passenger load factor improved to 91.8 per cent vs 87.7 per cent y/y.
Shares in Jet Airways rose as much as 2.44 per cent to Rs 689.75, while Spicejet and InterGlobe Aviation gained as much as 2.2 per cent and 1.3 per cent, respectively.
