Bajaj Auto shares rose as much as 3.3 per cent to touch a record high of Rs 3,212.95 on Tuesday.
At about 12.05 pm, the stock was trading 2.38 per cent or Rs 74.10 higher at Rs 3,183.50 on the NSE.
The Nifty Auto Index gained as much as 2.4 per cent, in its bigges intra-day percentage gain since February 1.
The automater said on Monday that its September sales rose 13.8 per cent. Up to Friday's close, the stock had risen 18.1 per cent this year, compared with 18.3 per cent increase in the Nifty auto index.
