Coal India maintained its firm undertone through the day to stay the top gainer on both the NSE and the BSE on Tuesday. At 3.20 pm the share was trading at Rs 434.75, up 3.52 per cent on the NSE. It had closed the previous session at Rs 419.95.
Infosys made rapid strides during the afternoon session to notch up gains of 2.30 per cent at Rs 972.05 against Rs 950.15 overnight.
BPCL rallied further to make gains of 2.10 per cent at Rs 928.40. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 909.30.
Ambuja Cement firmed up 2.04 per cent at Rs 252.90 against Rs 247.85 at close on Monday.
Hindustan Unilever rode up 1.81 per cent at Rs 927.20 against Rs 910.70 at close last evening.
