JP Associates held firm to stay ahead of the pack on the NSE near close on Friday. At 3.05 p.m. the stock was trading at Rs 40.25 as against Rs 37.85 at close on Thursday. This represented a gain of 6.34 per cent.
Tata Steel maintained its firm sentiment to hold gains of 6.02 per cent in late session. The stock was quoting at Rs 383, as against its overnight close of Rs 361.25.
Ambuja Cement edged up to trade at Rs 161.65, a gain of 3.72 per cent on Thursday’s close of Rs 155.85.
Bank of Baroda, which yesterday reported a marginal 3.6 per cent rise in Q3 net profit at Rs 1,048 crore, made rapid gains of 3.33 per cent to trade at Rs 556.20 near close. The stock had closed Thursday's session at Rs 538.25.
Sesa Sterlite gained 3.14 per cent to trade at Rs 189.10, as against Rs 183.35 overnight.
