Most Asian stocks were trading higher on Friday, as Wall Street shrugged off concerns about rising tensions in West Asia and mixed data to focus on the healthy corporate outlook.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 was up 22.73 points or 0.21 per cent at 10,859.37. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng jumped 255.65 points or 1.1 per cent to 23,557.49. Singapore’s Straits Times was up 26.63 points or 0.86 per cent at 3,109.46. South Korea’s Kospi climbed 22.06 points or 1.12 per cent to 1,999.28.
Australia’s S&P/Asx 200 was down 3.8 points or 0.08 per cent at 4,934.60. China’s Shanghai Composite fell 26.05 points or 0.89 per cent to 2,900.91. Taiwan’s Taiex rose 174.44 points or 2.01 per cent to 8,858.32.
