Private lender Axis Bank inaugurated an “all women branch” in Kolkata. This is the bank’s first such branch here in the State.
The branch, inaugurated on July 15, has come up in a posh south Kolkata locality (Lake Gardens). It will offer regular banking and financial transaction services.
Post the inauguration, Axis Bank now has 118 branches in the city and 219 in the State.
“Women play an important role in managing household savings and we believe that this ‘All Women Branch’ will help increase the participation of this segment in the banking industry,” Rajiv Anand, Executive Director, Axis Bank said in a press release.
