Timex Group India Ltd opened its first store at Jagadamba Junction in the city on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the new showroom, Angelique O’Brien, head (retail) of the company, told reporters that it was the company’s fourth in Andhra Pradesh and the thirty-first in South India.

Another showroom was being opened in Bangalore on Thursday, she said. Vizag market was encouraging and youth-centric products were being launched here.

Watches at the store were in the price range of Rs 1,500 to Rs 11,000 for Timex and for other brands, prices went up to Rs 25,000, she said.

She said Timex recorded 30 per cent growth last year. The number of outlets in the country had grown from 70 to 107 and 37 were added during the past seven months. The turnover of the company was Rs 350 crore in India last year and 2.5 million watches were sold during the year.

The manufacturing unit at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh produced three million watches so far this year, she added.
