Even with the DMK pulling out from the UPA Government, the Finance Minister P. Chidambaram has said the Government remained stable and there is no crisis.
"Let me assure everyone that the stability of the Government and continuance of the Government is not an issue. The Government is absolutely stable and enjoys a majority in the Lok Sabha,” he said while talking to presspersons.
He also said the Government is holding consultations on the DMK demand for a Parliament resolution on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue. Chidamabaram also took note of the remark by the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister that the DMK would review its decision if the Parliament passed a resolution condemning Sri Lanka.
It may be recalled that Chidambaram was one of the three Cabinet ministers who rushed to Chennai on Monday to talk with DMK chief M. Karunanidhi.
