Five of the 10 start-ups have received seed funding from investors at the Startup SmashUp organised by the The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) here on Saturday.
Typically, the investors pick 8 per cent equity in the start-ups they invest in for Rs 10 lakh.
The rules in the term sheet are not negotiable. The start-ups that got funding are Enabli, Yo Grad, Play your sport, CBS and Hostel Dunia.
The daylong event saw a full house of start-up promoters, investors and others in the ecosystem.
Enabli is a lead generation tool for consumer facing businesses. It analyses posts on social media and analyses conversations to sniff at possible leads that can be converted into business.
While Yo Grad is a community for students to network, learn, share and have fun, ‘Play your sport’ allows is a social network for sports and fitness lovers. Hostel Dunia gathers info on accommodation availability in hostels in top cities.
“CBS is an Internet of Things solution that fetches data from different devices and sensors to give a perspective on a particular problem".
Safir Adeni, President of TiE (Hyderabad) said that the start-up ecosystem turned robust. “The success rate of funding by the start-ups is a proof,” he said.
