The Employees Provident Fund Organisation plans to launch a nation-wide two-month drive to recover dues from defaulting establishments. The drive will begin on August 1 and will go on till September 30, 2012.
A press release from the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Chennai Region, advised the defaulters to remit the outstanding immediately. It will appropriate recovery and/or legal action under the provisions of EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.
The law provides for attachment of bank account, attachment and sale of movable and immovable properties, arrest and detention of defaulters in prison.
