Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yedyurappa will face a floor test today in the Assembly to prove his majority after a hung assembly. K G Bopaiah has been appointed as the pro-term Speaker who was sworn-in by Governor Vajubhai Vala. While the BJP had secured 104 seats falling short of 6 seats to have a majority, the Congress-JD(U) alliance have 116 seats.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir today. During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate the work on 14-km long Zojilla Tunnel on the Srinagar-Leh National High which will provide all-weather connectivity between Ladakh and Kashmir Valley. This will be the country’s longest road tunnel. He is also likely to dedicate to nation the 330-MW Kishenganga Power Project.

The JEE Advanced 2018 exam, organise by IIT Kanpur, will be held today. This year the admit cards will be available online for download and the entire exam will be conducted in fully computer based test mode. The results will be announced on June 10.
