The Andhra Pradesh Government will soon synchronise databases of Revenue and Registration Departments, using information technology solutions. This will allow sellers and buyers of land and properties to register from anywhere in the State.
Besides reducing corruption, the integration of data would help check multiple registrations and other dubious methods followed by some people to deceive the government and gullible buyers.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed the status of the pilot launched in three districts of Chittoor, Warangal and Ranga Reddy with Revenue Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy and officials of Revenue and IT Ministries.
The pilot would be scaled to cover the whole of the State with a centralised IT architecture providing seamless information flow between the two departments. This tool would help automatic updating of records, leaving little scope for multiple registrations.
The State Government would deploy National Informatics Centre’s Webland software to key in the maps and other data related to lands at the sub-divisional level. It will take six months for this to complete.
