A textile delegation of Government officials from nine countries underwent training at the South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) here recently.
These delegates, numbering 47 from third world and developing countries such as Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Philippines, Sudan and Uzbekistan were here as part of ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation) programme sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
SITRA has been identified and recommended to conduct training programme for officials of textile from different countries.
Such training programme is conducted every year. This time, the 47 delegates from nine countries participated in a 60-day programme.
Later, in an interaction, the delegates said that they would apply their learning experience in their respective countries.
“We want the Indian Government to support in educational sector,” said one, after a visit to Sri Krishna College of Arts and Science.
