Agappe Diagnostics Ltd, a leading diagnostic reagents and equipment manufacturer, has announced a tie-up with Japanese multinational Toyobo Co Ltd for technology licensing to manufacture early cancer detection devices.
Thomas John, Managing Director, Agappe, told reporters here that the manufacture of the equipment and its reagents would begin at Agappe’s manufacturing facility at Pattimattom near here.
The instrument is easy to operate and provides fast and highly specific results at a reduced cost. The aim is to provide everyone across the country accurate result at right time for proper diagnosis, he said.
Toyobo company officials explained the technological advancements offered by the new equipment. The machine is highly compact and designed using smart card based calibration technology for error free testing.
The unit is expected to start production within 18 months, and Agappe is planning to update the system to enable cardiac and sepsis testing in later stage.
