Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao has convened a meeting with the Railways and Transport, Roads and Buildings Departments officers and with the District Collectors of Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore to review the progress of new railway line between “Nadikudi-Srikalahasti” and new National Highway Road Project between Nagarjuna Sagar and Erpedu.

During the meeting, the Joint Collector, Guntur, said that land will be handed over to Railway authorities by December 15, 2015. About 688 acres of land has been acquired in 14 villages in Guntur District for this railway line and there is no issue of compensatory afforestation of land in Guntur District. District Collector Nellore said that joint survey for 2900 acres of land is completed and patta land survey is pending in the District.

Detailed notifications for the railway line are ready for publication. The Chief Secretary asked the District Collector Nellore to complete the survey works within a month.

The National Highway Project between Nagarjuna Sagar and Erpedu was discussed during the meeting. The Chief Secretary called upon the District Collectors to co-ordinate with the National Highway authorities and with the Departments concerned to complete the project.

The Chief Secretary also suggested the TR&B Officials to nominate a Nodal Officer to monitor the National Highway project. Advisor to Government, Railway Projects P. Srivastava, Special Chief Secretary TR&B Sri B. Sam Bob and other officers took part in the meeting.
