Observing December 3 as a day of protest, the Bhopal Gas Peedith Mahila Udyog Sangathan and the Bhopal Gas Peedith Sangharsh Sahayog Samiti, representing victims of the tragedy that claimed thousands of lives, said that “the chronically sick, the elderly, the differently abled, the widowed, and other vulnerable sections” have got nothing but a “pittance” as compensation from the Central and the Madhya Pradesh governments.
With various cases pending with the Supreme Court, the victims said they were finding it difficult to find gainful employment.
