The Andhra Pradesh government, in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is organising a major three-day agricultural hackathon here from November 15, to be inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, according to B Rajasekhar, the Principal Secretary (Agriculture).
He said here on Thursday that it will be a major international event with 300 delegates from all over the world participating in it and Microsoft founder Bill Gates participating in the valedictory function on November 17.
He said 500 farmers from the State and other States as well as 250 students will participate in the event. On the second day, November 16, Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh will participate in the convention.
He said the Chief Minister will remain in the city all the three days. An exhibition will be organised with 50 stalls to showcase the latest agri technologies and products of the companies. There would be seven panel discussions on agriculture-related topics during the three days.
CII will lend support to the State government in organising the event, said Satish Raman, the Regional Director (South).
Visakhapatnam district collector Pravin Kumar said all arrangements would be made to make the event a great success.
