The ninth edition of the National Foundry Conclave, a biennial event organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry and Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF), is scheduled on November 16 and 17 at Hotel Le Meridien in Coimbatore.

The theme of the conclave this year is ‘The Way Forward’.

Event Chairman R Saravanan told reporters that the conclave would focus on planning, profitability, skilling, automation and technology. The focus would be on technical updates as the industry is in a transformative stage. Technology processes have changed radically in the last few decades and it is vital for companies to adopt new technologies, he said.

Since the industry has huge opportunity in defence and railways, there is a lot more to look forward to in the future, he added.

Twelve internationally renowned speakers from countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Japan, the UK and Thailand will share the industry’s best practices, technological developments and latest advancements.

Shashi Kumar Jain, President, IIF, and N Muthukumar, President and whole-time director, Automotive Axles Ltd, will address the inaugural session.
