Congress president Rahul Gandhi will launch the party's poll campaign in Meghalaya today.  He will hold meetings with party workers over the next two days. The State is set to go to polls on February 27. Over the weekend, the Congress announced its list of candidates.

Virtusa Consulting S ervices' delisting offer for Polaris Consulting & Services will open today. Virtusa owns 74.22 per cent stake in Polaris and seeks to acquire the balance through this offer. The delisting offer ends on February 5.  The delisting price will be determined by reverse book building process.

US President Donald Trump will deliver a State of the Union address to a joint session of the Congress on Tuesday. The speech, typically given every year of a president’s term except the first, reports on the current condition of the United States and allows the leader to outline legislative and other priorities.

The Catalan Parliament will hold a vote of confidence in sacked leader Carles Puigdemont’s candidacy.  Puigdemont was earlier this week chosen as candidate to lead Catalonia again. Puigdemont has been living in self-imposed exile in Brussels since the Madrid government dismissed him as Catalan president in October for spearheading the campaign to split from Spain.

The $350,000 India Open badminton tournament starts tomorrow in New Delhi. All eyes will be on Saina Nehwal and defending champion PV Sindhu as they start their campaign. The marquee event will also feature 2014 champion Kidambi Srikanth.
