Customs officials seized 900 grams of gold worth ₹23.5 lakh from a passenger from Dubai at Mangaluru International Airport on Friday. A press release said here on Saturday that the gold, in the form of foil strip, was attempted to be smuggled by a passenger by concealing it in plastic containers of talcum powder and crayons, and also in cartons of corn flakes and cream wafers. The passenger was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. In another case, the officials seized €4,400 valued at ₹3.31 lakh from a Dubai-bound passenger on Friday.
