Maharashtra on Tuesday passed a new renewable policy for five years, which aims to attract projects worth 14,400 MW of capacity. The policy aims to attract 7,500 MW of solar power, 5,000 MW of wind power, 1,000 MW from farm waste and biogas, 400 MW from small hydro projects and rest from industrial wastes. CM Devendra Fadnavis tweeted that the new policy will fetch the State an electricity fee of ₹3,885 crore.
