Expressing confidence that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will win 16 of the 17 Lok Sabha seats from Telangana in the coming elections, TRS working president KT Rama Rao said his party would play a crucial role in forming the government at the Centre.

In a blazing attack on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Rama Rao said TDP, which worked with the BJP for four years, is now criticising the TRS and the BJP to hide administrative failures and win elections in Andhra Pradesh.

He said the people of Telangana voted the TRS back to power because they believed in the welfare schemes introduced by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. But today, the people of Andhra Pradesh are not ready to repose faith in Chandrababu Naidu because of his “incompetent governance,” he said.

Welcoming Congress leader Vanteru Prathap Reddy into the TRS fold at Telangana Bhavan here today, KTR described the BJP as the ‘Build-up Jatiya Party’ and stated that a major line of Central leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, six CMs and 11 Central ministers campaigned in Telangana Assembly elections but the BJP lost the deposit in 103 seats.

KTR remarked that neither the BJP nor the Congress will get the magic number in the next elections. The TRS will be working with non-Congress and non-BJP parties and various political parties such as Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, and Biju Janata Dal which have made their stand clear to not support either the BJP or the Congress, he said.
