Conceptualised and developed by two young entrepreneurs from Ahmedabad, an online platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to source wholesale raw materials was launched here.

Tradohub.com is an online platform that supports small businesses and lets them flourish without fear of being cheated. The online portal was launched by Govindbhai Patel, the Minister of State for Science and Technology and Energy and Petrochemicals, Gujarat, a statement said.

Developed as an offline service for SMEs to source material at wholesale prices, the two entrepreneurs, Akash Domdiya, alumni of Nirma University, and Harsh Patel of Changa University, decided to make it online, giving a large number of SMEs the chance to take advantage of the material pooling. The platform gives Tradohub bargaining power while placing a large order of similar items on behalf of different SMEs units.

"The primary objective of the venture is to supply good quality raw materials to the smallest industries across India. This is the only Indian online portal that satisfies the requirements of industrialists at all levels," the statement said.

“The growth of SMEs in Gujarat is almost 18 per cent every year. This online platform is aimed at making it convenient for SMEs and industrialists while doing business," the minister said while launching the portal.

Tradohub.com has the potential to save 8-10 per cent on procurement costs for small and medium-sized enterprises and industries.

There is no registration or renewal fees for being a part of this online platform and therefore it is an opportunity for small and new businesses to establish themselves in the market, said Domdiya, Chairman of Tradohub.com.

“Gujarat will be the hub for our primary venture and we will be dealing with raw materials such as plastic, agro products, food processing, engineering, chemicals, pharma, and bulk drugs,” said Harsh Patel, MD of Tradohub.com.
