The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) and Sky Chopper Logistics Pvt Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) here on Wednesday for introduction of helicopter tourism in the city.
HRD Minister G. Srinivasa Rao, in whose presence the MoU was signed, said the company would be allotted 1.95 acres of land at VUDA park for construction of helipad and three rooms to operate the services for payment of ₹ 50,000 a month to the VUDA. VUDA secretary A. Srinivas and Chandrasekhar of Skychopper signed the MoU. Two packages - one covering Kailasagiri to Bheemunipatnam and another covering the agency areas of Araku and Lammasingi - will be offered. The fare will be worked out and announced later.
The passengers will get an insurance cover of ₹ 10 lakh. The heli tourism will commence from Dasara festival this year.
