Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday caused a stir by describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “God’s gift to India” and a “messiah of the poor”.
Naidu, who introduced the BJP’s political resolution in the national executive meeting, later circulated salient points of speech in which he used these epithets to describe the PM. “Narendra Modi is ‘Modifier of Developing India’. He is a decisive leader, nationalist politician and provides progressive governance… Modi is God’s gift for India. He is the messiah of the poor,” he said.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it to the Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2015 and now this year 3. Prime Minister is seen as the leader of the larest democracy on the global scale with over 18 million twitter followers and 32 million Facebook likes,” he said.
“Prime Minister’s wax statue now will be unveiled in London’s Madam Tussaud’s museum,” he added.
