The Visakhapatnam steel plant should give priority to skill development programmes, infrastructure development, health and education in spending its CSR funds, Visakhapatnam member of Parliament K. Haribabu has said.

He was speaking at Nadupuru village near the plant on Friday after inaugurating ‘Vizag Steel -- Ukku Kalavedika’, a multi-purpose community hall, built at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore under a CSR programme in Nadupuru Rehabilitation Colony.

P Madhusudan, the CMD, said the company had been undertaking several community welfare initiatives under CSR. He said RINL would spend more on CSR activities to enhance the quality of life in its peripheral/ rehabilitation colonies.
