Five employees of BHEL’s Electroporcelains Division have been felicitated. The employees Thilagavathi, U Padvathamma, Shivakama Sundari, BP Padmavathi and N Yeshodamma had bagged the Prime Minister’s Shram Devi Awards for their distinguished performance, devotion to duty, specific contribution in the field of productivity and proven innovative abilities.
The employees were honoured as part of the International Women’s Day-2018 celebrations by Dr B R Mamatha, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, Ramanagara district, along with Manoj Kumar Varma, GM In-Charge (CBU), and D Rajababu, GM, EPD, and other senior officials at the BHEL Malleswaram Complex, Bengaluru.
Dr Mamatha, speaking on the occasion, lauded the five ladies on their achievement and exhorted them to be role models for other women. The awards were presented by the Vice-President, M Venkaiah Naidu, at a function held in New Delhi in February. Instituted in 1985 by the Ministry of Labour, the Shram Awards carry a cash prize and a Sanad.
