Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Chairman P Ramulu had a word of advice for hoteliers who had gathered for an award function. “Eat right and you can avoid visits to a doctor. This is my prescription for healthy living,” he said speaking at the Telangana Food Awards presentation function hosted by The Hindu and TSTDC.
He said the initiative to conduct food festivities dedicated to Telangana culinary delights was a wonderful idea. “It has reminded people of the delicacies we are either missing or forgetting in our busy lives. The event, where hoteliers showcased their best was a gastronomic binge for a week,” he said.
About 45 hotels ranging from five, four and three star properties, to restaurants and food courts participated in the programme where a variety of dishes was on offer for people to relish. There were many other awards across various categories. In the five-star hotel category, Marriott won the first prize, ITC Kakatiya was judged second and The Park, third. In the four-star category, Hotel Aalankrita came on top, followed by Hotel Daspalla (second) and Hotel Golkonda (third) respectively. In the three-star category, Best Western Ashoka came first, Central Court second and Hotel Katriya came third.
