Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said his US tour was fruitful in achieving two breakthroughs in solar energy and agricultural sectors. The State Government has signed MoUs with 28 companies during his tour which concluded on Friday.
Reviewing the tour on Saturday evening at the Secretariat in Amaravati, he said if the innovations in solar energy sector were used properly there would be no need to increase power tariff in future.
Emphasis in future would be on solar and wind energy. He said regional solar grids would be set up at village level for storage facility of solar energy and agricultural pumpsets will be provided with solar energy. Every house top would be provided with solar panels and the surplus production would be connected to local grids.
He said people can use their surplus solar power to recharge their electrical cars as the production of electrical vehicles will be increased in future. He said he had held discussions with the CEO of Tesla, which is leading in solar vehicle production.
The Chief Minister said a mega seed park would be set up in Kurnool. An agreement was signed with Stanford University and the Netherlands University for innovation in seed production.
He said Google would implement a pilot project in the State to carry out its experiments, including fibernet from Andhra Pradesh.
He said a township would be developed in Visakhapatnam for fintech technology and Franklin Templeton came forward to extend support for the technology. Nutonix came forward to extend support in cloud management. A roadmap would be developed within a month. He said AP would be developed as a cloud hub.
