Sonam Kapoor-starrer Neerja has crossed the ₹25-crore mark at the box office within a few of its release. Based on the life of air-hostess Neerja Bhanot, the movie has been co-produced by Fox Star Studios India and Atul Kasbekar’s Bling Unplugged and directed by Ram Madhvani.
The movie, which was released on February 19, has earned about ₹25.71 crore in the first four days.
The movie has been released across 700 screens and is reported to have been made with a budget of about ₹20-21 crore.
Shikha Kapur, Chief Marketing Officer, Fox Star Studios India, said that as the film has received a strong positive feedback, the number of shows for the movies have been increased in certain markets.
Instead of following the conventional strategy of promoting the movie two-three weeks before the release, Fox Star Studios India started promoting the movie as long back as the first week of December.
