CII Southern Region will focus on smart cities and infrastructure at the three-day Suminfra conclave to be held at Tirupati during December 11-13.
The event, which is expected to see the convergence of industry and government representatives from all Southern States, is slated to be inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The valedictory session would be addressed by Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Ramachandra Galla, Vice-Chairman of CII-Andhra Pradesh, said that the annual flagship event seeks to lay special focus on smart cities with the theme ‘Building Sustainable Smart In frastructure’.
The CII platform would seek to address some of the concerns of the infrastructure and also come out with suggestions as to how these could be handled at the policy and implementation level.
The Plenary Session of 12th edition of Suminfra 2014 would be on State Integrated Infrastructure Promotion (SIIP) with sessions by the Southern States. There will be a parallel session on renewable energy. Apart from showcasing models and case studies of best practices in public-private participation in infrastructure, it would also seek to showcase projects in the Southern States for private participation.
One of the key sessions would be on smart cities, role of infrastructure and private participation and various segments related to smart cities.
Apart from dwelling on PPP models in building smart infrastructure, it would also seek to touch upon PPP models in implementation of projects and also in operation and maintenance.
