The 19th Federation Cup National Senior Athletics Championship will be conducted in Mangaluru from April 30 to May 4.
Addressing presspersons in Mangaluru on Tuesday, Abhayachandra Jain, Karnataka Minister for Sports and Youth Services, said that the athletes selected in this meet will be eligible to represent India in international events such as the Asian Athletics Championship and World Athletics meet in China this year and in Rio Olympics.
Nearly 900 athletes from different parts of the country will be taking part in the event. There will be 24 events for men and 23 for women in the athletics championship, he said.
The Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, will inaugurate the event on April 30, Jain said.
