Gujarat-based cement manufacturer Sanghi Industries Ltd on Tuesday said it has signed up as an associate sponsor of Indian Premier League (IPL) team ‘Gujarat Lions’ for the upcoming IPL T20 tournament.
The Gujarat Lions team will represent Rajkot under the captaincy of batsman Suresh Raina. The team played its first match yesterday against Kings XI Punjab and started its run at the IPL with a first match win, Alok Sanghi, Director, Sanghi Industries Ltd, said.
Gujarat Lions will play 14 matches. Of these, seven matches will be played at two of their home venues, Rajkot and Kanpur. The Gujarat Lions squad includes cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja, who is from Rajkot, and key players like Brendon McCullum, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Dwayne Smith, and Dwayne Bravo.
