Travel portal Yatra has launched a new mobile app — Yatra Mini — targeting value conscious travellers featuring bus, train and budget hotel bookings, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

Built to cater even to lower-end android phones, it is available in English and Hindi and will soon be available in Tamil, Bangla, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Urdu.

Yatra Mini that features only the relevant product lines — bus, train and budget hotels — will appeal to customers who have limitations on phone memory space and want to keep data usage to a minimum.

Sharat Dhall, President, Yatra.com, said, “We have identified a clear gap in the market with no one catering to a very large and rapidly growing segment of mobile users, who access the Internet using entry level smartphones, and are seeking an app that enables them to make their bookings speedily. By offering this app in regional languages, we are also tapping into the non-English traveller who is looking to shift to the convenience of online booking.”

Yatra Mini also offers help to travellers to view their upcoming, completed and cancelled trips.
