With high-speed 4G data networks becoming cheaper and easier to access on the move, Blaupunkt, pioneers in after-market in-car infotainment and sound, has announced its entry into the rear-seat entertainment category. Mass market car owners who have enviously eyed luxury cars with rear LCD screens at the rear now have an upgrade option.

Blaupunkt’s new BP RSE AD 10.1 is a rear seat monitor, which is ultra thin and runs Android 4.4.4 OS with a ARM Cortex-A53 quad core processor. Its capacitive touch screen is a HD display that supports 24-bit True Color and offers built in Wi-Fi.

A Blaupunkt release mentions that the new entertainment system has a compact design and inbuilt speakers. It comes with 1GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB of built-in flash memory. This product has been designed and engineered to keep rear seat passengers entertained without the hassle of wires. It supports Bluetooth Headphone pairing as well as IR headphones.

Considering that everyone wants to stay connected while on the move and this model comes with built in WiFi capability it makes it easy to tether this device with a data dongle (WiFi Dongle or Smartphone). Once tethered, the Internet now becomes available to rear seat passengers in the vehicle. YouTube videos, Gmail or Google Maps are now just a touch away.

The model is priced at ₹34,990 per piece and will be available from this month. Download the Blaupunkt Mobile APP available at Google Play store and iOS App Store for more information about this device and other products the company offers.
