This week the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) introduced a new initiative — the Indian Food Recovery Alliance (IFRA). A coalition of food recovery partners in the country, it aims to fight hunger and reduce food waste. At the event, food recovery partners explained their current models of food recovery and what was being developed for the future as an integrated Web-based platform. Meant to be a pilot project, the Web platform allows interested donors, individuals and volunteers to register themselves for the initiative.
