Munchee Puff biscuits launched

Our Bureau

RITZBURY India (Private) Ltd, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Ceylon Biscuits Ltd, today launched `Munchee Puff' biscuits in Chennai and other centres in Tamil Nadu. The new product is positioned as being different from "traditional ones such as Glucose, Milk, Marie and Nice", according to the company's Managing Director, Mr Ahamado Refai.

Munchee Puff, which the company claims is "different from traditional varieties in terms of taste, bite, sweetness and mouth-feel", is being made available in four flavours — lemon, chocolate, strawberry and orange. The product is also being promoted as being "high in quality" and "affordable" (a 100-gm pack costs Rs 12). The company's Chairman, Mr M.P. Wickramasingha, said the immediate task would be to strengthen the distribution network in the State. Capacity at the production facility, in Maraimalainagar near Chennai, would also be ramped up if the need arose, he added.
