Valdel opens FamilyMart

BANGALORE: Valdel Retail has announced the launch of its first project, FamilyMart, a value shopping destination supercentre, located at JP Nagar in Bangalore.

"FamilyMart offers one-stop shopping, food and entertainment for the entire family," Mr M.J. Shantharam, Managing Director of Valdel Corporation, said.

FamilyMart is spread across four acres with a retailing area of about one lakh sq ft. It consists of a department store called Centra, a supermarket called Dailys, a food court and entertainment for kids. Other facilities such as book-store, music, bakery, photo shop and beauty salon are part of the total offering at FamilyMart, Mr Shantharam said. "Parking space for about 350 cars and 400 two-wheelers are some of the details we have been very specific about," he added.

Valdel Retail was established in partnership with Suiwah Corporation of Malaysia in 2002. Suiwah is a public listed company with turnover in excess of $370 million and its main business comprises of supermarkets and department stores in Penang.
