Bangalore , March 2

IACO, which is in the air conditioner distribution business, floated its branded service arms - airForce and airfield in the year 2000. The two divisions engaged in providing a turnkey service in planning and implementation of new air conditioning projects and their service and maintenance contribute more than 10 per cent of the group's total revenue of Rs 80 crore.

The company recorded more than 100 per cent increase in revenue from Rs 5 crore to Rs 12 crore this year.

The market for specialised maintenance service, which aims to extend a one-point interface for maintenance of multi-brand air conditioners, is estimated at Rs 500 crore.

Talking to Business Line, Mr Farhan Pettiwala, Managing Director, said IACO's clientele, includes corporates in banking, consumer electronics, BSE, international airlines offices and healthcare centres.

Mr Pettiwala said most of the companies sign up for their offices even outside Mumbai, which was responsible for the company's rapid growth. It employs about 700 technically qualified personnel for the services, he said.

Mr K.S. Oberoi, CEO (South), IACO, said Bangalore, which is a leading outsourcing centre, is a growth centre for the company.

IACO plans to strike a strategic alliance or acquire small service providers of AMC to optimise its costs and strengthen its service efficiency, Mr Pettiwala said.
