KPTCL reaches milestone

BANGALORE: Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd reached a milestone at the Bellary Thermal Power Station when it lifted its boiler drum and erected it at 72 m height, at an all-time new benchmark of 14 months for the milestone, among 500 MW unit development in the country, according to a KPTCL press release.

The corporation adopted the strand-jack method to lift the drum from ground level to reduce cycle time. The event also signifies the start of pressure parts erection, the release stated.
