CSEZ announces export excellence awards

KOCHI: The Cochin Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) has announced awards for export excellence for export-oriented units and special economic zone schemes in Kerala.

In all, 30 awards are being given for export performance and a special award has been instituted for the first time for employment generation. The Industries Minister for Kerala, Mr Ebrahim Kunju, will be giving away the awards on Friday, according to a press release.

Tyco Electronics Tools Ltd, one of the four strategic tooling centres for the entire Tyco Electronics operations worldwide, tops in exports in the engineering sector.

Nest Power Electronics Ltd, a Nest group company, tops in exports of electronic hardware. The special award for the largest employer in CSEZ is being given to Tata Ceramics Ltd. Hindustan Lever has topped in tea exports, AVT McCormick Ingredients in spices, Patspin India Ltd in textile and garments and Cochin Minerals and Rutiles Ltd in the miscellaneous category.
