Four Soft plans portal for logistics operators

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Oct. 14

FOUR Soft Ltd, technology provider for transportation and logistics sector, has sewn up plans to create a portal that brings together players in the logistics business, allowing them to interact seamlessly.

Alongside this, the company has announced it is working on a product that would enable many countries to connect their customs networks over the Web electronically. This assumes importance given the fact that customs is getting increasingly complicated due to security concerns.

The Chief Executive Officer of Four Soft, Mr Palem Srikanth, said, "The demand for high supply chain visibility and increasing pressure on costs by the end-customers are forcing various regional and mid-sized players in the transport and logistics industry to collaborate.

"The portal will serve as an ideal platform since they do not have to bother about their own systems but just get connected to the portal and interact with their counterparts on one side and also allow the customers to track their consignments. This would be transaction-based and only registered users would be allowed access," he said.

Addressing a press conference here today, along with two other members of the board, Mr Srikanth said that Four Soft recently acquired DCS Transportation, a UK-based company with operations in the US and Europe. Following this, the company's customer base has swelled past the 250 mark. "Given the client base, we expect these two products, particularly the portal — 4S-3Plex, to provide an ideal platform for small and mid sized companies to interface".
