ONGC crude pipeline restored

Our Bureau

Ahmedabad , Feb. 21

OIL and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has restored its Nawagaon-Mehsana crude pipeline that had been closed following a leakage on Monday morning. "The pipeline had developed a leak near Thor village, about 35 km from Mehsana. As soon as the leak was detected, our technical team went to the site and repaired the damage. The pipeline has resumed normal operations on Tuesday morning," an ONGC spokesperson said here.

ONGC engineers had detected a sudden drop in pressure at 2:30 a.m. on February 20. The pipeline was shut down for safety reasons and the crude routed through an alternative pipeline through Kalol. The pipeline carries about 6,600 tonnes of crude per day to Indian Oil Corporation's Koyali (Vadodara) refinery.
