Hardware States - Maharashtra eInfochips sets up 2nd design centre in Pune Our Bureau
Pune , April 6 Ahmedabad headquartered eInfochips, a player in the electronic design services sector, on Thursday announced the setting up of its second design centre in Pune. The new centre, spread over an area of 10,000 sq ft, would house more than 75 engineers, Mr Tapan Joshi, Vice-President (Marketing), eInfochips, said. The first design centre in Pune was set up in January. Talking to presspersons, Mr Joshi said the second centre would house an embedded lab for developing reference designs for video surveillance and video conferencing applications on Da Vinci technology from Texas Instruments. The new centre would also include a centre of excellence for Vera and SystemVerilog-based chip verification.
Storage area networking
Mr Joshi said the first design centre whose focus area is storage area networking, advanced chip verification and consumer multimedia application was started in January 2005 and has about 75 engineers. He said the centre, which has been in operation for the past one-year has contributed about 15 per cent to the eInfochips overall turnover. It has executed projects for QLogic and has developed new embedded tools and testing suites for Tensilica processor. He said the company has achieved a turnover of $10.4 million in the fiscal ended March 2006 and is targeting a growth of 80 per cent for the current fiscal. The contributors to the design service market include chips, embedded software and hardware.
