New Delhi , April 23 Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has outlined an aggressive plan to increase capacity across its various locations, including addition of 3,000 seats in Delhi, 4,000 seats in Hyderabad, and 5,000 seats each in Mumbai and Chennai during this year, a senior company official said. "This year, we will be adding 3,000 seats in Delhi over and above the current capacity of 6,000, while Mumbai which already has 14,000 seat capacity would see addition of 5,000 seats during this year. We plan to double the capacity in Hyderabad from the current 4,000 seats," Mr Phiroz Vandrevala, Executive Vice-President of TCS, told Business Line. He said the capacity in Bangalore would be scaled up from the existing 6,000 seats to as much as 10,000-11,000 seats, while in Kolkata the addition would be to the extent of 2,000-3,000 seats. The company currently has 4,000-seat capacity in the city. In Pune, where the company has 2,000 seats, TCS plans to add capacity of another 2,000 seats during the course of the year. It also plans to ramp up its presence in Bhubaneshwar, by adding 1,500 seats during the current financial year, he said.
Largest presence
"Expansion would also happen in Chennai where we currently have our largest presence. We will be adding 5,000 seats to the current 15,000-seats capacity," Mr Vandrevala said adding that TCS would also expand its footprint to Mohali, Nagpur and Indore amongst other locations. "We will start establishing our presence in these new cities but they will not be physically ready by this year," he said.
