Informatica to expand operations

New Delhi , April 26

The California-based Informatica Corporation has announced setting up of its sales and marketing offices in the country. "We are setting up offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore for sale of our data integration software," said Mr Ramendra Mandal, Country Manager, Informatica.

The company also plans to double its strength of 150 employees in its research and development centre in Bangalore in the next 12-18 months.

The company has a customer base of 25 companies in India representing industries such as insurance, automotive, telecom and business process sourcing among others. The company also has 30 partners in the country that include corporates, such as Satyam and Infosys.

Commencement of sales operations in India is in line with the company's focus to expand the data integration market in the Asia Pacific region.

It is planning to offer its software to education institutions at discounted rates to train more students.
