World Bank loans for 3 health projects

Resuming loans to the health sector in the country, the World Bank has approved three projects valued at $662 million.

The projects include two in Central sector projects - Reproductive and Child Health - II ($350 million) and National Tuberculosis Control-II ($170 million), said an official release. The third, a $142-million project, is on Karnataka Health Systems Development and Reform. These projects have been approved by the Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank after the Finance Minister assured the World Bank President of fully transparent procurement procedures.

A governance and accountability action plan was jointly drafted to bring about greater transparency in the procurement processes in the health sector, it added.
