Hardware Marketing - Customer Relationship Management States - Tamil Nadu Western Digital brings service to the doorstep L.N. Revathy
Service men collect the part or product to be serviced from the customer's doorstep and deliver it soon
Coimbatore , Sept. 18 To ensure better and timely service of its products, data storage pioneer and leader in the hard drive industry, Western Digital (WD) is extending after sales service at the customer's doorstep. The company's doorstep service `WD Express' has evoked positive response, said its Director (Sales) for India and South Asia, Mr Sharad Srivatsava. After completing a whirlwind tour, Mr Srivatsava came to Coimbatore to participate in the roadshow organised to reach out to its audience and channel partners in this city. He told Business Line that the objective of the roadshow was to chalk out ways and means for promoting and popularising the company's product and brand image, to create awareness about the WD Express service and get a feedback from the channel partners on the initiatives taken by the company. According to him, in a country such as India, it would not be cost-effective or viable for companies to set up service outlets at various places. "Companies at the same time cannot give up after sales service. So we introduced the WD Express, whereby, we send our service men to collect the part or product to be serviced from the customer's doorstep and have it delivered at the same place within the shortest possible time. Customers can either log on to our site to book the complaint or call our toll free number and register," he said. He pointed out that the entire storage segment was initially `enterprise' focused. "But now life has become `digital' with more and more people wanting to have a portfolio of their personal files, personal photos, music and movie in the digitised form. We provide cost-effective storage solutions for people and organisations that collect, manage and use digital information. "Customers rely on WD hard drives in desktop and notebook computers, mobile and handheld devices, corporate networks and home entertainment applications to keep data secure and close at hand," Mr Srivatsava said.
