Amara Raja PAT up at Rs 12.7 cr

Our Bureau

Chennai , Oct. 30

Amara Raja Batteries Ltd has reported a profit after tax of Rs 12.7 crore on net sales of Rs 132 crore for the quarter ended September 30. In the same period the previous year, the company reported a net profit of Rs 4.58 crore on net sales of Rs 87.07 crore.

According to a press release from Amara Raja, the industrial battery division is growing due to the surging expansion in cellular networks, UPS sectors and increasing volumes in railways and power sectors. Though rising lead prices are a concern, growth in topline and increasing scale of operations helped to minimise the impact, the release said.
